“The thief only comes to steal, kill and destroy, while I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance”(John 10:10)
The purpose of Jesus' mission was to impart life, a life of supreme quality, and “eternal” as well.
His ultimate goal was that every man discover this knowledge that lies in knowing the love of God, and that this knowledge be so abundant that all could truly be filled with the fullness of God, as he determined:"This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent"(John 17:3).
Or following Saint Paul in his majestic exposition of Ephesians 3:16-19 after knowing the dimensions of Christ's love, so that they may be “filled with all the fullness of God”.
The "fullness" to which Paul refers, like the word "life" used in this case by Jesus, includes all kinds of goods, and by adding "that they may have it abundantly" he refers to a life of excellence, with a content greater than what could be requested or expected; because what Christ offers is always something more and better than what is expected, since it is the security of a normal life, and above all of an eternal life from that crucial moment when we receive it and make it ours.(1 John 5:11,12)
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living a victorious Christian life that is activated from the first step —which is none other than conversion— and follows that path “fixing our eyes on the author and finisher of faith” until reaching the summit of a full life, full of grace andTRUE.
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living a Christian life of such quality that no one doubts its authenticity, being able to distinguish between what is true and what is adulterated; and it will be abundant to the extent that it is excellent due to its nature of permanent communion with God.
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS a Christian life in permanent growth, of integral development. It is a life-giving spring, which is expressed in that of “give and it will be given to you”. It is not a pool of stagnant water, but a river of living water that flows from the depths of our being.
Life in Abundance 10
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living a Christian life with clear rules and accounts that result in a conscience at peace with God and with our neighbor, whom we are called to love as ourselves.
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living the Christian life in a permanent relationship with God as a friend and as a Father. His ways are unknown and can only be discovered when we live in a state of dependence on Him and in search of His will. For the believer, God is something more than a theological assumption, more than a concept, more than a doctrine or a belief. It is finding the life that is light, that renews strength and illuminates at every moment the path through which we must travel.
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living the Christian life with resources that provide hope and love. They are the resources that come from the Throne of Grace and that beyond us, there will always be something more than ourselves. Those resources are the eternal and supreme values that sustain our being when there is no longer "contentment" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
LIFE IN ABUNDANCE IS living the Christian life “despite everything”; trust in the Lord "come what may"; we are in his hands, the most powerful hands in the universe. Being a Christian is not an insurance policy against suffering and adversity; but the Christian equipped with the promises of the Lord will always be prepared to face any situation and use even adversity itself, putting it at the service of the Lord, believing that all things work together for good for those who love God.
